
Bikram Rai
Born in 1983, Bikram Rai is a Visual Story teller from Kathmandu, Nepal. His background includes photography, journalism (weekly magazines, online news portal, photojournalist and social media expert), filmmaking and videography (fiction and documentary).
He started his career as a creative graphic designer in 2008. But with time he got attracted towards Photography and was captivated by the power that photographs carry to tell stories and changing lives of people.
Following that passion, he joined Nepali Times (a reputed weekly newspaper) in 2010 as a photojournalist. In that period, he contributed numerous visual arts of the news, affairs and events. 3 years later, he then started contributing photographs to the Associate Press (International News Agency) as a stringer. With the impactful works, he got himself the recognition and exposure from renowned international media platforms like The New York Times, ABC News, Fox News, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC, OneWorld, and BlankSpot. He has also collaborated with international professionals like Martin Edstrom (National Geographic Explorer) in 2017 on 360-degree video documentary of Nepal, after 2 years of the 2015 earthquake.
Apart from news photos, he is now inclined towards health services in remote parts of Nepal, Climate Change, and similar stories. Looking forward to create more meaningful impacts through Visual Arts.
